Beware of Scam.

I posted a ad online last week to sell off my wife's hand bag (S/S2011 Balenciaga Velo in Militaire).
later last week, i received an email from a guy call Henry Rock from USA. Stated he is interested in the bag i posted and would like to buy it for her daughter. Below in red is from his email  babajo2004@yahoo.com

 I know we cannot trust all this online, but i just like to know how this people would scam and what they are up to. So later i send him my paypal account as requested. Last night, he send me a email said he had done a fund transfer into my paypal account but paypal will only release the fund after i provide a valid AWB (Airway Bill number) for the shipment of the goods. follow by i received an email from "Paypal" saying a fund had been done by this Henry Rock and mention the same thing that i need to provide a AWB#. But..... when i click into the detail of the email address, it shows customerhelpdept@usa.com, NOT FROM PAYPAL.

So here is the trick, people will get over excited that someone is interested in their products and might quickly ship the items. And before you can receive the fund, your goods is gonnne....!!!

Some scam will also tell you they have this big amount of money that they will transfer to you and you can keep some percentage for your help (Money Laundry), but first you need to trnasfer some funds for some documentation fee. Bullshit, if they have this kind of money, why do they still need to you transfer a small amount of money to them first. Ask them to cut from your comm instead lah !!!

So everyone please be careful of all this scam and never trust until you see the money. Not ever those who want you to send them a little money before they can transfer any funds to you.

For me, i always like to reply to them to see what they are up to. :D

3 Ways to Use Windows on Your Mac

One of the biggest reasons that Windows users have a hard time making the switch to a Mac is that they have obtained years and years of Windows software. Of course there is no real way to run Windows apps natively on the Mac operating system. But, instead of not becoming a Mac convert or starting your application collection from scratch, you can use these 3 ways to use Windows on your Mac.

Remote Desktop

One of the fastest ways to get Windows running on a Mac, especially if you already have an installation of Windows (XP, Vista, or 7 Pro or higher) is to use the free Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection application that is available for your Mac. You will need to do some initial configuration, like making sure that your Windows PC is accessible through a firewall and allows for remote desktop connections.
To allow remote desktop connection on Windows do the following:

XP

1. Click Start and then right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Remote tab, and then click to select “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer”.
4. Confirm the change.

Windows Vista/7

1. Click the start button and in the search box type “Control panel” and hit Enter.
2. Double click the System icon.
3. Under Tasks to the left click Remote settings.
4. One the System properties dialogue under the Remote Desktop heading, choose Allow connections from computers running any version of remote desktop
5. Click apply.

If you are on a local area network with the Windows computer that you just allowed to be remotely accessed, all you need is the computer’s IP and that it be turned on to access it from the Remote Desktop Connection application from Microsoft. Simply enter your IP, click connect, and you are good to go.

Virtualization

If you don’t want to remotely access your PC, keep Windows with you on your Mac, and have the ability to use your Windows apps next to your Mac apps, then virtualizing Windows inside of OS X is the way to go. There are a handful of great virtualization suites out there including Parallels Desktop ($79.99) and VMware Fusion ($49.99). But, if you want virtualization done for free, you may want to look into VirtualBox that was originally created by Sun and is now owned by Oracle.
Virtualization is a great way to use Windows on your Mac but can be a little bit of a bear to setup, especially if you aren’t familiar with virtualization at all. The process basically includes installing the virtualization software, creating a new virtual machine, and then installing Windows on the new virtual machine. The creation of the virtual machine (especially with Parallels and VirtualBox) is pretty straightforward. Where you can run into issues with the virtual machine is when you are trying to virtualize certain hardware components and setups, but for most users, they will never have to touch these options.
Another thing about virtualization is that you will need a valid license and installation media for the version of Windows you want to install.
Probably the hardest part of virtualizing Windows on a Mac is installing Windows on the virtual machine. If you have installed Windows before with succes, then this won’t be an issue, but for those that have never installed Windows, it could pose a problem.
Luckily there are some great tutorials for installing Windows from the Microsoft Support Site. Also, since Windows Vista, the installation process has become much easier.

Boot Camp

While virtualization is a great way to use your Windows apps alongside your Mac apps, some power users may want the full power of their Mac hardware to run Windows. For this type of user I suggest using Apple’s Boot Camp to install Windows on a totally separate partition on your Mac. This gives you the ability to boot into either OS X or Windows when you turn your compter on.
The benefits of using this type of setup is that you get to use the power of your Mac to run Windows, rather than using a less powerful virtual machine because it doesn’t have to share resources with the “host” operating system. Also, using Windows 7 natively on a Mac is pretty great and can prove to be a better user experience than most of the high-end PCs that are available.
The installation guides for Boot Camp can be found here on Apple’s support site. Just choose the installation guide that is applicable to your Mac to make it happen. Once again, you will have to know how to install Windows natively and have a valid Windows license and installation media to get this to work.

Microsoft showed its first public demo of Windows 8 on Wednesday, and it's not at all like the Windows operating systems you've come to know over the past 25 years. The next version of Microsoft's operating system ("Windows 8" is just a codename) is a radical departure, designed around touch screens.

If this revelation is making you weak in the knees, worry not. Here's a handy FAQ on the early Windows 8 build that Microsoft demonstrated:

What Windows 8 features did Microsoft demonstrate?
Essentially, Microsoft showed how Windows 8 will work on both tablets and traditional PCs. The operating system's home screen is filled with big, touchable panels, like the live tiles in Windows Phone 7, and from there you can tap and swipe your way to other touch-based applications. But underneath that touchy layer is plain old Windows, with a task bar, file manager, app icons--everything.

From the start menu, which shows basic information like time and unread e-mail counts, users swipe upwards to reveal the home screen and its tiles. As with Windows Phone 7, apps can show some information within the tiles--users needn't click on the weather app to see the current temperature, for example. Swiping from the right bezel brings up a menu that can take users from an app back to the home screen.
Users can multitask between open apps by swiping across from the left bezel. And therein lies the coolest-looking feature of Windows 8: When swiping in a new app, users can snap it in place next to the app that's currently running. This allows users to view two apps at the same time--something that no existing tablet OS can do.

Microsoft says it's created a new kind of app for Windows 8 using HTML5 and Javascript, and they're a lot like the apps you'd expect to find on a tablet. A weather app shows the five-day forecast. A news reader displays stories and thumbnail images in big, rectangular panes. Microsoft also showed off Internet Explorer 10, which is optimized for touch. Presumably Microsoft will distribute these apps through its own store--there's a "Store" tile in the version of Windows 8 that Microsoft demonstrated--but the company offered no details.
Legacy apps and new apps can run side by side (Click to Zoom) What about existing Windows apps, such as Office and Photoshop?
They'll still work. Loading one of these apps will bring up a more familiar version of Windows. According to All Things Digital, classic Windows apps will use "fuzzy hit targeting" to aid finger taps, but they won't be optimized for the touch screen like Windows 8's HTML5/Javascript concoctions. Legacy apps can, however, run side by side with the new Windows 8 apps.
But what about Windows PCs running on ARM chips? Will legacy apps run on those devices?
It's conceivable that ARM-based Windows devices will be restricted to the touch-centric user interface in Windows 8, but Microsoft hasn't made any announcements on that front. In fact, Microsoft recently denied claims made by an Intel executive about which apps will run on ARM-based Windows machines. Intel's Renee James had said to expect at least four versions of Windows for ARM processors, and that none of these versions would be compatible with apps from Windows XP, Vista or 7. Microsoft said these statements were "factually inaccurate and unfortunately misleading," but didn't clarify the matter with any details. In other words, the question is still unanswered.
When's the Windows 8 release date?
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said that Windows 8 will launch in 2012, but the company hasn't been any more specific than that. Expect more details on Windows 8 in September, when Microsoft will hold the BUILD conference for developers. For now, check out Microsoft's first video of Windows 8 in action.

Asus have this feature call the "Instant On" that can resume to windows in secs.
i don't quite understand this function. It seems to work like a Sleep Button which you can find on and Windows. So what is so great about "Instant On"??????

WWDC 2012: OS X Mountain Lion, iPhone 5 rumors gaining ground

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2012 is beginning shortly. Meanwhile OS X Mountain Lion, iPhone 5 release date rumors are doing the rounds

Apple’s next Worldwide Developers Conference 2012 is set to begin from June 11 to June 15, 2012 at Mascone West, San Francisco, California. The tech world is keenly waiting for a set of new products and upgrades from the Cupertino-based technology giant. Indeed, rumors, which are often meaningless in case of Apple, predict products such as iPhone 5, iOS 6 and Mountain Lion for the event. Let us wait for a few more weeks to precisely know what is in store following Tim Cook’s keynote address with new products at the Mascone West. This time round, we will deeply miss the charismatic former CEO and co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, at the event.
iPhone 5
Rumor mills are working overtime in predicting iPhone 5’s release date. Many think that it will come at WWDC 2012, but some think Apple will only uncover it in October similar to iPhone 4S last year. Anyway, here we include the iPhone 5 as one of major possibilities for the upcoming Apple developers conference. Observing the current mobile market and status of iPhone 4S, we can simply expect that Apple will launch its next iPhone version as early as possible.
The new iPhone is expected to be a totally different iPhone. Whatever Apple is going to do, we believe that it is high time the company should redesign the phone. From the golden era of iPhone 4 in 2010 and early 2011, the global mobile market has changed a lot. Today, we have more large-screen handsets with high power quad core processors, advanced connectivity options like NFC and much more. If whisperings are true Apple may launch the new iPhone with a large edge-to-edge screen, quad core processor, USB, NFC and many others.
iOS 6
There is a real possibility for the new iOS 6 at WWDC 2012 rather than the iPhone 5. The new version of iOS will be coming out with a plethora enhancements and capabilities. The current iOS 5 is already rich with many features like iCloud and a great interface. However, Apple fans look for a more furnished iOS version with the new iOS 6. Features like support for external memory, programmable call handling, configurable audio alerts, increased Siri performance, alternate keyboard support and web browser choice are some of much-anticipated iOS 6 features.
A6 chipset
The new A6 processor is expected to come with the new iPhone 5. Hence, if Apple uncovers the new iPhone at the WWDC 2012 it will also be the official launch of A6 chipset. Apple debuted the A5 chipset on iPad 2 and later for iPad 3 the company introduced an interim version called the A5X. Now it looks like Apple will come with a more powerful A6 chipset for iPhone 6. Most possibly, the new chipset will be compatible with the quad core processors.
Enhanced Siri
Siri is a much -appreciated intelligent personal assistant app on Apple’s iPhone 4S. This voice recognition app only works with iPhone 4S as of now. But Apple fans are looking for the service on all iOS devices including iPad and iPod Touch. Maybe, Apple will spread the Siri’s service on all iOS-based gadgets. Anyway, it is certain that Apple will improve Siri with more features, capabilities and languages.
OS X Mountain Lion
The OS X Mountain Lion is actually the ninth version of Apple’s OS for Macs. The successor to OS X Lion was previewed in February 2012 and it may get the official release at the WWDC 2012. The Mountain Lion will be noted for many features inspired by iOS. “You’re about to use your Mac in all-new ways with OS X Mountain Lion. It’s designed with innovations from iPad and it works even better with iCloud. And that makes everything you do on the Mac smarter, easier, and even more fun,” says Apple.

What i think about Samsung Galaxy Note.

So I think about the SG Note???
Well, I have been using the iPhone since version3 (till now 4s) and is a little bore and thought of trying to have a change. So about 3 weeks back, I bought a one month used Note thru the web. I bought it at $760/- and sold it out at $780/- after using for a week.

The problem I had was obviously too big. Your fingers will get tired as the phone is big and you need to reach to the opp side when you are using only one handed. I also feel that it will drop easily well you are typing or navigating on the phone. But what I dislike most is Samsung's soft touch button located at the bottom left and right. Sometime when you navigating around the phone or going into any apps you will somehow tends to rest your thumb and you will accidentally touch the key and leads you out of the apps or popping out the menu function. I hope Samsung can improve on this and Iight consider to give it another try.

Update: Just realise you can make the phone into silent mode by facing the phone down on the desk.
this is useful when you are in a meeting. Just face the phone down and its in silent mode.

Just trade my 2011 MacBook Pro 15"

I just trade off my MBP 15" for a Asus N55SF 15" plus a $300 cash back. :D
I got piss off with using parallels on mac. Not stable. Quite happy with Asus but looks ugly.

Circle symbol beside Cursor after Windows Update.

Recently inotice there are quite a number of people having a problem after performing aWindows Update.

The busy circle symbolbeside the cursor keep spinning every few seconds like it is doing something atthe background but no program is running.

I got this issuemyself and being trying for days to fix it.

I have searchthru the website looking for solution but no luck. Finally I solve it today.

For my case, Ifound out that the issue was caused by HP Network Communicator which is havingproblem connecting to the printer or scanner after the windows update. (Btw, I’musing Win7-64bit-Pro.)

If your case soundsimilar like my, try the following.

1)     Open up the “Windows Task Manager” (ctrl+shift+esc)

2)     Look for “HPNetworkCommunicator.exe”

3)     Observe, if whenever this Communicateappears, the cursor start to show this spinning sign then it must be it.

4)     Right click the HPNetworkCommunicator.exeand click Repair. (If it doesn’t fix it, I suggest you Uninstall the HP printerSoftware.)

(FYI, theprinter I’m using is HP Photosmart 7510)
